AHCIP registration services
Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP) registration services are offered at several registry agents offices throughout the province. Eligible Albertans can register and update their information at one of many offices conveniently located across Alberta.

2. What AHCIP services are offered at the Alberta registry offices?
Residents of Alberta can apply for coverage with the AHCIP and make changes to their registration information. This includes changes to name, address, marital status, date of birth and adding or removing coverage for a dependant. The registry offices also provide AHCIP forms to apply for Alberta Blue Cross Non-group coverage, Premium Assistance and Pre-authorized Payment Plan for Non-group coverage.
3. Is there a fee charged by the registry office for any AHCIP registration services?
No. Alberta registry offices will provide AHCIP registration services at no charge. Service at Alberta Motor Association (AMA) locations requires AMA membership.
4. Can a registry agent provide me with an Alberta Personal Health Card?
No. Registry agents can process the application for AHCIP coverage and request the card through Alberta Health and Wellness. All cards are mailed directly to Albertans from Alberta Health and Wellness. Contact AHCIP
5. Is my personal medical information accessible to the registry staff?
No. The staff at Alberta registry offices do not have access to any medical information, including medical records. The registry staff will only have access to information such as name, address and names of dependants.
6. How secure is my personal information at the Alberta registry offices?
Your personal information is safe. Registry agents are subject to strict legislative, contractual and policy requirements that protect the security and release of Albertan’s information.
7. If I still owe premiums for my AHCIP coverage, can I make payments for these arrears at the registry offices?
No. Alberta registry offices cannot accept payment for your AHCIP arrears. Payments can be made by mail to P.O. Box 2411, Station M, Calgary, AB T2P 4B4.
8. Are there other ways I can register for AHCIP coverage and update my information?
In addition to several registry offices, Albertans can still register for AHCIP coverage by mail or make changes to registration information by contacting AHCIP.
