Pandemic H1N1 Influenza Virus Surveillance
NOTE: Pandemic H1N1 influenza case information is now reported on a daily basis; but not on weekends or holidays.
The focus of surveillance and testing for evidence of the Pandemic (H1N1) 2009 influenza virus and illness across Canada has shifted to hospitalized patients with influenza-like illness. Regular surveillance is ongoing. However, since August 21, 2009, in keeping with other jurisdictions, Alberta Health and Wellness began posting only the number of pandemic H1N1 influenza hospitalized cases and deaths.
