Health Charter and proposed Health Advocate feedback received

The public feedback period on the Health Advocate regulation and the Health Charter was from January 30 to March 3, 2014. All Albertans and stakeholders were invited to submit their comments on the draft Health Charter and proposed Health Advocate Regulation. The Government of Alberta received a significant amount of feedback, and is now taking time to thoroughly consider all of the submissions received and to identify changes that may be needed.

Copies of all written submissions received during the comment period are posted below. Submissions from stakeholder organizations have been posted unless the organization specifically requested otherwise, while comments from individuals are listed anonymously.

The government moved forward with the existing version of the Health Advocate regulation and Health Charter to fulfil its commitment to Albertans to open the Office of the Alberta Health Advocates on April 1, 2014. The Health Advocate regulation came into force on the same date. The opening of the Office allowed the Health Advocate to begin work immediately on behalf of Albertans, working alongside the Seniors’ Advocate and the Mental Health Patient Advocate.
