Action on Wellness – International Symposium 2011
In October 2011, renowned wellness presenters from Australia, the United Kingdom, as well as many other speakers from educational and research institutes in Canada and the United States spoke at the Action on Wellness internation symposium.
These experts examined the issues of healthy eating, active living, mental wellbeing and addictions, explained what they’ve studied or implemented in their areas of wellness and how the findings can be translated for practical use in Alberta.
The 3-day symposium featured:
- David Rocco, host of David Rocco’s Dolce Vita;
- Alberta’s Top Doc, Dr. André Corriveau; and
- Canada’s top doc, Dr. David Butler Jones.
There were presentations by the medical expert from CBC Television’s hit show, Village on a Diet, Dr. Ali Zentner, and Executive Chairman of Loblaw Companies, Galen Weston. Weston was the force behind the company's move to include more healthy choices, including its Blue Menu foods, into Loblaw's supermarket chains.
The Action on Wellness international symposium followed on the success of the Action on Wellness forum in December 2010,
