Share your views on how Albertans should be consulted
The Minister’s Advisory Committee on Health pointed out that trust and respect are built on a foundation of being involved and knowing what is happening.The Alberta Health Act will set out the broad directions and guidelines for the health system. That is why the Minister’s Advisory Committee on Health recommended that the public have an ongoing say in decision-making on key issues, including the development of regulations and policy. This will provide a "critical check and balance mechanism" as stated in the Committee's report.
There are many ways of encouraging public involvement:
- Going online and providing input on sites like this one;
- Participating in the activities of your regional or community-based health advisory committee;
- Contacting your elected representative; and
- Contributing to the 12 Health Advisory Councils established by Alberta Health Services.
